Section 1-1
Short Answer: (3/2/1 grading rubric)
  • Why are the hospitality and tourism industries considered fast-paced and challenging?
    • The hospitality and tourism industries are considered fast-paced and challenging because when you check into a hotel or make reservations at a restaurant, the servers/helpers try to get people into their rooms or at their table at a fast pace in order to keep the customer happy to avoid an argument with the customer. The hospitality and tourism industries are challenging because it takes a lot of work to make sure that every customer who comes to a hotel or restaurant are happy and enjoy what they came for.
  • What factor (s) makes hospitality and tourism different from other industries?
    • The factors that make the hospitality and tourism different from other industries is that the people who work at a restaurant or hotel are there to make sure that the customers have the best experience and find what they are looking for, in order to make sure that they enjoy their vacation or dinning experience.
  • What is the meaning of intangibility? How does it relate to hospitality and tourism?
    • The meaning of intangibility is a state of being abstract, or can not be touched.
